Digital-DC Flexibility
As part of its focus on ease of use, Intersil Zilker Labs designed its Digital-DC power conversion and management devices so that they can be easily adapted to a wide range of requirements and to be easily modified for changing system needs. These flexible devices are equally appropriate for embedded power system designs as well as DC-DC converter modules addressing different power.

Digital-DC devices incorporate a wide range of easily configurable power conversion and power management functions that allow a single device to be applied across a wide range of application scenarios:
- Adjustable output voltage setpoint and offset trim
- Adjustable switching frequency
- Clock synchronization with phase interleaving
- Inductor DCR or RDS(ON) current sensing
- Adjustable load-line (droop) impedance
- Adjustable loop compensation coefficients
- Configurable logic polarity for Enable and PGOOD signals
- Precision soft-start/stop delay and ramp times
- Coincidental or ratio-metric voltage tracking
- Closed-loop voltage margining
- Time-based or event-based sequencing
- Configurable fault thresholds and fault response methods
Additionally, many parameters can be re-configured through the SMBus interface with no hardware changes necessary, allowing a single hardware design to be used across a wide range of applications.
Examples of Digital-DC based designs are available in the Design Gallery.
