Zilker Labs' ZL2005 Named Finalist for
EDN's Innovation of the Year

AUSTIN, Texas – February 14, 2006 – Zilker Labs, Inc., today announced that its ZL2005 integrated power management and conversion IC was selected as a finalist for the prestigious EDN Innovation of the Year award in the Power ICs category. The ZL2005 is one of four Power IC finalists selected from a large field of nominees. The winner will be selected by a combination of on-line voting at www.edn.com/innovation and further editorial input, and will be announced on April 3, 2006.

“We are honored to be selected as a finalist for EDN’s Innovation of the Year award and are pleased to be recognized among respected industry leaders,” said Jim Templeton, vice president of marketing at Zilker Labs. “Customer response to the ZL2005 has been very enthusiastic because the ability to complete a power supply design with a single IC and some simple pin connections dramatically eases their design processes.”

The ZL2005 combines a compact, efficient, synchronous DC/DC buck controller, adaptive drivers and key power and thermal management functions in one easily-configurable IC, providing flexibility and scalability without increasing board space or design complexity. The ZL2005 provides several key innovations over alternative technologies: it combines a world-class digital power conversion architecture with comprehensive power management logic in a single IC; it is easily configurable with no user programming required; and it is the only digital power IC—with all of the benefits of a digital solution—that maintains or exceeds the efficiency of traditional analog implementations.
