Compensation of switching power supplies is an essential element of proper and robust power design. The recent introduction of digital pulse-width modulation (PWM) controllers has introduced the concept of using a digital proportional-integral-derivative (PID) filter for the voltage-loop compensation rather than a traditional Type III analog implementation.  more>>
